Troy 2004 full movie

"Troy" is an epic historical war film released in 2004, directed by Wolfgang Petersen. It is loosely based on the ancient Greek epic, "The Iliad" by Homer. The movie tells the story of the legendary Trojan War, which took place around the 12th or 13th century BC.

The film begins with the abduction of Helen, the queen of Sparta, by Prince Paris of Troy, which sparks a conflict between the two great civilizations. In retaliation, Menelaus, the husband of Helen and the king of Sparta, seeks the assistance of his brother, Agamemnon, the powerful king of Mycenae and leader of the Greek forces.

Agamemnon sees an opportunity to expand his empire and rallies a massive fleet of Greek warriors, including the fierce Achilles, a skilled and almost invincible warrior. Despite his reluctance to join the war, Achilles is persuaded by his close friend Patroclus to fight for glory and eternal fame.

The Greeks sail across the Aegean Sea and lay siege to the city of Troy, protected by its impenetrable walls. The Trojans, led by Prince Hector, Paris's older brother, prepare to defend their homeland and their beloved city. Hector is a courageous warrior and a family man, torn between his duty to Troy and his love for his wife and son.

The war wages on for years, with several epic battles and displays of heroism. Achilles emerges as the greatest warrior of the Greek army, but his personal motivations and inner conflicts become increasingly apparent. Meanwhile, the Trojans, although facing overwhelming odds, exhibit resilience and determination in the face of impending doom.

The story is also interwoven with complex relationships and tragic consequences. Achilles forms a bond with a Trojan priestess named Briseis, creating a moral conflict within him. Paris and Helen's love affair is tested as the war rages around them, and the Trojan prince must find the courage to face the consequences of his actions.

The climax of the movie arrives with the legendary Trojan Horse. The Greeks, unable to breach the walls of Troy, devise a plan to infiltrate the city. They construct a massive wooden horse as a gift to the Trojans, but it conceals a select group of Greek warriors inside. The Trojans, believing the war to be over, bring the horse within the city walls, unknowingly sealing their fate.

In a surprise attack, the hidden Greek warriors emerge from the horse during the night and open the gates of Troy, allowing the Greek army to storm the city. Chaos ensues as the Greeks pillage and destroy the once-mighty Troy. Hector valiantly fights to defend his home but is eventually slain by Achilles in a one-on-one duel.

The movie concludes with the fall of Troy and the departure of the surviving Greeks. It explores the devastating consequences of war, the price of glory, and the human emotions that fuel such conflicts.

"Troy" showcases grand battle sequences, intricate storytelling, and powerful performances by a star-studded cast that includes Brad Pitt as Achilles, Eric Bana as Hector, Orlando Bloom as Paris, Diane Kruger as Helen, and many others.
